There are many non-surgical options available for people who are not quite ready for surgery , or for those who do not want to undergo surgery.  Preventative maintenance treatments that are started at a younger age can actually help one age better.  For example, starting Botox treatments in your twenties, can help to minimize muscle movement and prevent those ugly glabellar lines and crow’s feet lines from forming and becoming permanently etched in, making them  harder to treat when you are older. Beginning  a good skin care regimen in your early 20’s with Forever Young BBL treatments, light laser resurfacing and using a physician approved skin-care line can actually keep your skin looking younger with less development of those ugly age spots and less collagen loss.

People of all ages experience constant effects from gravity, sun-exposure, bad lifestyle habits and stress.  Both young and older patients can benefit from subtle interventions to restore, treat and maintain a youthful and attractive appearance. Do you remember the saying “An ounce of prevention is worth a pound of cure?”  This is interpreted to mean a little prevention before a crisis occurs is preferable to a lot of fixing up afterwards.   This applies to healthy aging as well.  A healthy diet, good lifestyle, and preventative treatments can help you age gracefully with less fixing up when you are older.

According to a study done by Dr. Gordon  Patzer, a psychologist who studied 3 decades of research on physical attractiveness,  human beings are hard-wired to respond more favorably to attractive people.  “Good looking men and women are generally regarded  to be more talented, kind, honest and intelligent than their less attractive counterparts”.   They tend to get the better jobs, the better pay, the better partner.  Whether we like it or not, whether we agree whether it is fair or not, this concept pervades our society and is unlikely to change.

Listed below are several non-surgical treatments The Best U Now offers,  to help patients always be able to put their best face forward and age as gracefully as possible.   Please contact our office if any of these procedures interest you or you have any additional questions.

Botox Cosmetic in Ft Lauderdale, Weston and Surrounding areas of South Florida

Botox Cosmetic is a prescription medicine that is injected into muscles and used to treat facial lines and wrinkles.  It is injected under the skin with an ultrafine needle and relaxes facial muscles, thereby reducing lines and wrinkles. Botox cosmetic works by blocking nerve impulse transmission from muscle to muscle.  Once the muscles are at rest, the skin becomes smoother creating a rested, refreshed look

Results typically last 3-4 months and continuous treatments are necessary to

maintain the effect over time.  Botox is a very safe treatment and was

introduced into the cosmetic arena in 2002.  Prior to that Botox had been

used since 1980 to treat other medical conditions in children and adults

with a high safety record.

Botox not only improves the appearance of wrinkles but can also be used to smooth skin texture, shape eyebrows, and can appear to lift and tighten the skin.  Botox can be used in younger patients as a more preventative treatment to prevent deep wrinkles from forming.  Asymmetries with respect to eyebrow position may be improved with Botox Cosmetic.  Frown lines and an angry look can be corrected.  Botox has no associated downtime, is extremely safe and cost effective treatment, but expect 3-4 sessions per year to maintain the results.

Botox Cosmetic is FDA approved to treat the brow area and crow’s feet area and is indicated for the temporary    improvement in the appearance of moderate to severe   glabellar lines associated with corrugator or procerus muscle activity (the area between the eyebrows) in adults.  Off label treatments are commonly and safely used to smooth wrinkles of the forehead, improve the appearance of the corners of the mouth and vertical lip lines, bunny lines on the nose, decrease fullness from prominent muscles of mastication and to treat sagging platysma neck bands.

Botox cosmetic can also be used to treat excessive sweating of the armpits, hands or soles of the feet.  Results from treatment to this area can last up to 9 months. Both men and women use Botox to treat areas of excessive sweating.

Treatment with Botox only takes about 10-15 minutes.  Since very tiny needles are used, the treatment is very comfortable, but sometimes upon patient request, a topical numbing cream may be used.  Results are not seen immediately.  Botox usually starts to work in about 3 days with maximum results apparent within 10-14 days of the initial treatment. Follow-up with your healthcare provider should be done at 2 weeks after your treatment to see if any touch-ups are necessary to fine tune the result.

Botox Cosmetic is a product made by Allergan and was the first of its kind on the market.  Since the introduction of Botox Cosmetic, two other brands are available and just as effective for use in the United States. - that being Xeomin by Merz Aesthetics and Dysport by Galderma.  Both Xeomin and Dysport are different strains of botulinum toxin type A and work in the same manner as Botox.  Dysport however, is dosed differently than Botox or Xeomin.  Our office uses all 3 products, and has found them to be very similar in efficacy, safety and duration of results.   The advantage to having newer Botox products for cosmetic use is to help keep pricing competitive among companies and consumers.

If you  like to improve your facial wrinkles and are considering having treatment with Botox, Xeomin or Dysport, please call The Best  U  Now  to schedule an appointment.

Juvederm Fillers

Juvederm Ultra XC and Ultra Plus XC, Voluma, Volbella and Vollure are all

products marketed by Allergan. These Allergan products are known as

“dermal fillers” and are used in different areas of the face to add facial

volume and fullness, smooth lines and wrinkles and to improve skin texture.

Hyaluronic acid is a naturally occurring substance in the human body that

acts as a cushion and a lubricant in the joints and other tissues like the eyes

and skin. As we age, the amount of hyaluronic acid in the skin decreases

and contributes to wrinkle formation due to diminished tissue elasticity and

Hyaluronic acid naturally absorbs water, so injection under the skin adds

volume to erase skin wrinkles, or fill hollows or depressions, restoring a

more youthful, rested appearance.  Repeated injections of filler will help to

stimulate your body’s own collagen production thereby reducing the on-going

age related process of collagen breakdown.

Juvederm Ultra and Ultra Plus are two of the most popular wrinkle fillers in

the United States and are commonly used to treat smile lines, nasolabial

folds, lip lines, marionette lines, glabellar lines, commissure depressions

and downturned lines at the corners of the mouth.  The filler looks and feels

very soft and natural. It can be used to fill the pre-jowl space, minimizing the

look of an early “jowl” and can also be used to contour the jaw line. Juvederm

is also an excellent lip enhancer and can create a beautifully shaped lip that

does not look overdone.  Juvederm is also very hydrophilic - meaning it

attracts water, which is good for this lips as it aids in hydration.

oluma is used to treat the central and lateral cheek. This is an area that tends to show a significant amount of deflation with aging. By restoring midface volume, the nasolabial creases and tear-trough depressions affecting the lower eyelid are improved. Juvederm Voluma restores the youthful “Ogee curve”  The Ogee curve refers to a soft double S contour of the mid face where the lateral brow and cheek are

naturally fuller, with the concave aspect of the S-curve tending toward the mouth.  Think essentially of a heart shaped face. Voluma has a newer patented technology that increases the longevity of this product up to 2 years with optimal correction.

Volbella is used to treat the tiny vertical lip lines - also known as smoker lines.  It can also be used to add hydration to lips to those patients that do not want to add significant volume.

Vollure, the newest Allergan product, is used to treat moderate nasolabial fold lines.  Although the manufacturer states the product can last up to 18 months, since Vollure is  relatively new to the market, we have not been able to see the long term results at this time.

With any type of dermal filler correction, naturalness is essential without overcorrection.  1-2 years of longevity is ideal and easy to maintain. Yearly touch-up or maintenance procedures are beneficial to enhance the result while accounting for any changes that may have occurred over the past year.  Longevity can never be guaranteed, as patients metabolize and tolerate injectable products differently.  Expect some variability from person to person with respect to how long the results last.

All the Juvederm family of products are reversible in the event of overcorrection using Hyaluronidase.  This improves the safety profile of these fillers. Often times a combination of fillers is recommended during your consultation process, as some fillers work better in certain areas.

With the Juvederm products you can expect a refreshed, natural look. A treatment plan can be developed that can be tailored to specific patient’s budgets.  Please keep in mind that although dermal fillers can provide an exceptional result, some patients, due to the degree of volume deficit and poor skin elasticity they have, may actually be a better candidate for a surgical procedure to address their issues.

For more information about Juvederm or any of the other products that are part of the Allergan Family, please call The Best U  Now  at 954-446-6464 to speak to one of our friendly staff members.

Radiesse and Belotero Balance

Both Radiesse and Belotero Balance are 2 products sold in the United States by Merz Aesthetics - the same company that also makes the Xeomin brand of Botulinum Toxin Type A.  Globally, Merz has a long successful history in aesthetics, dating back to the days when the company founder, Friedrich Merz, studied the effects of rejuvenating essences on the skin. In 1953, the company created the first anti-wrinkle preparation in Paris, France creating a cosmetic sensation.   Merz Aesthetics product portfolio is known for exceptional quality and outstanding results and is trusted by both patients and medical aesthetic practitioners around the world.

What is Radiesse?

Radiesse Volumizing Filler has been FDA Approved since 2006 for the correction of moderate to severe facial folds and wrinkles, such as nasolabial folds.  It is also intended for restoration and/or correction of the sign of facial fat loss (lipoatrophy) in people with human immunodeficiency virus.  It should not be used for injection into superficial areas such as the eyes or lips as nodules or lumpiness has been reported with use in these areas.

Radiesse is a sterile, creamy white, cohesive injectable implant, made of tiny microspheres of calcium hydroxylapatite (30%) suspended in a hydrogel (70%). Calcium hydroxylapatite is a synthetic substance identical in composition to the mineral portion of bones and teeth.  It is compatible with living tissues and naturally dissolves in the body over time.

CaHA is biodegradable, following the same metabolic pathway as bone debris resulting from bony fractures.  After 2-3 months, they hydrogel is replaced by collagen.  Calcium hydroxylapatite has a long history of safe use in ears, vocal cords, dental procedures, plastic and reconstructive procedures and orthopedics.  It can be used to enhance nipple projection for nipple areolar reconstruction, urinary incontinence and vesicoureteral reflux and use as a radiographic tissue marker.  The average lasting result is from 12- 18 months in these situations.

Radiesse works in 2 ways.  First, it provides immediate correction of depressions

and natural looking fullness in areas of volume deficiency the moment

it is injected.  Secondly, and unlike hyaluronic acid fillers, the CaHA

microspheres stimulate the body to generate new collagen, providing

longer lasting effects than some of the hyaluronic acid fillers.

Basically the injected product sets up a structure that encourages tissue growth in and around the injection site.  After 2-3 months the body absorbs the hydrogel, but the scaffold set up by the microspheres has stimulated the ingrowth of collagen leaving the areas previously filled by the gel, with new, naturally produced tissue.    This unique action restores the fullness and contours of a youthful, healthy appearance with sustained results that last an average of one year with some variability in longevity from person to person.

Of note the calcium hydroxylapatite (CaHA) particles of Radiesse are radiopaque and are readily seen on CT scans and may be visible on X-rays.  Patients need to be informed of the radiopaque nature of Radiesse so they can inform their Primary Health Care Provider as well as any Radiologist.  In a radiographic study of 58 patients, there was no indication that Radiesse interferes with the detection of abnormalities visualized on radiography.   The visible Radiesse effects lasts for about one year after injection.

Radiesse is injected into the skin, in small amounts with a very fine needle.  Prior to injection, sometimes topical based numbing cream, or ice is used to minimize any discomfort during your treatment.  The injected product works with your body, below the skin surface.  Tiny calcium-based microspheres form a “scaffold” to support and stimulate the growth of your own collagen.   Normal, injected related reactions, such as mild irritation, swelling, bruising, and tenderness at the injection site may last for a couple days.

Radiesse is an ideal filler to restore youthful contours of the face by enhancing bony structure and areas of volume loss.  It works beautifully to enhance the cheek area as well as the jawline.  It can be used to create more chin projection in someone with a receding chin.  It is ideal for generalized areas of volume deficiency including the temporal region and midface.  It can provide subdermal support of the brows so that the brows appear more lifted. Radiesse is a thicker product that can be placed deeper in the skin to lift up the midface and enhance the cheeks.   It should not be used in the lips or around the eyelids.

Radiesse is also a great product to use for hand rejuvenation  and is the only FDA product approved for hand rejuvenation.  The dorsum of  the hand can be injected with little discomfort,  immediate natural results and no downtime.  Usually one syringe per hand is required.  When injected, the cream like  texture of Radiesse, feels soft and natural and can be molded  and smoothed to hide skeletonized tendons  and vessels. It also helps to thicken the skin.  Your hands will no longer  give away your age, so you will feel more confident to show off your beautiful jewelry and manicure.

Radiesse if often combined with other fillers such as hyaluronic acid products and either Botox or Xeomin to maximize and treat various areas of the face uniformly.

In general the longevity of the product depends upon many factors and cannot be accurately predicted.  These include patient age, metabolism, lifestyle habits and the relative motion of the area in which the implant is placed.  Follow-up treatments will be needed to maintain the results.

Radiesse may be less forgiving that any of the hyaluronic acid products as there is no way to remove the product once it is injected.   But the flip side is that Radiesse provides more lifting capability and collagen stimulation , so natural increases do occur over time in spite of the natural absorption of the product.  Radiesse has been injected safely in over 30,000 patients worldwide without any report of reaction to the product.

What is Belotero Balance?

Belotero Balance is a hyaluronic acid filler marketed by Merz Aesthetics that was FDA approved in 2011.  It is FDA approved for injection into the mid-to deep dermis for correction of moderate to severe facial folds and wrinkles, such as nasolabial folds.

The technology used to create Belotero makes it a little different than some of the other hyaluronic acid fillers on the market.  It is a low -viscosity gel product with variable densities of cross-linking in one cohesive structure.  This creates a thinner substance with uniform particle size that is smooth, easier to inject and spreads naturally within the treated area when injected.  This permits the product to be injected in a more superficial plane without the risk of perceptibility or lumpiness.  The variable zones of cross-linking allow the product to integrate nicely into the nooks and crannies of the skin and subcutaneous tissues, resulting in smooth, natural looking augmentation outcomes.

Due to the fluidity of the product, Belotero is one of the best hyaluronic acid fillers that is used to correct fine lines around the lips, crow’s feet and other fine etched lines of the face.  This product tends to work best when it is injected superficially and is not the best product to use to add generalized volume as it disperses too readily when injected into deeper tissues.  Belotero is often used in conjunction with other fillers when correcting facial volume loss.  Certain products work better in other areas, so expect a combination of products to optimize your facial rejuvenation procedure.

The duration of the Belotero’s effect, depends upon the placement of the injection, patient metabolism and lifestyle habits.

To find out if Radiesse or Belotero are the right products for your facial rejuvenation treatment, call The Best U  Now  at 954-446-6464 to schedule a consultation to learn about the full range of our injectable treatments.

Restylane Silk, Restylane Lyft, Restylane Defyne and Restylane Refyne

The Restylane Family of products include Restylane, Restylane Silk, Restylane Lyft, Restylane Defyne and Restylane Refyne.  These products are all marketed by a company called Galderma in the United States.

Restylane was the first hyaluronic acid filler FDA approved in 2003,

outperforming the previous collagen based fillers that had very limited

longevity. Hyaluronic acid is a substance that is naturally present in the

human body and helps to maintain skin volume and hydration.

Unfortunately, as we age, the amount of hyaluronic acid in the skin reduces and contributes to wrinkle formation by decreasing tissue elasticity and hydration.  Hyaluronic acid can absorb up to 1000 times its own weight in water, so injections help to add new volume under the surface of sagging, deflated or wrinkled skin.  In addition, the hyaluronic acid that is injected creates a “micro injury” that stimulates new collagen formation, thickening skin and smoothing wrinkles.  Injections have also been found to help delay the breakdown of collagen. Oral or topical applications of hyaluronic acid have not been proven to improve the appearance of skin.

Restylane is approved for mid to deep injection into the facial tissue for correction of moderate to severe facial folds and wrinkles, such as nasolabial folds.  It is also indicated for injections into the lips of patients over the age of 21.

Restylane Lyft is for deep implantation into the facial tissue for correction of moderate to severe facial wrinkles and folds, such as nasolabial folds and for cheek augmentation and for the correction of age-related midface contour deficiencies in patients over the age of 21.

Restylane silk is indicated for lip augmentation and for peri-oral wrinkles in patients over the age of 21.

Restylane Refyne and Restylane Defyne are indicated for mid to deep injection into the facial tissue for correction of moderate to severe facial wrinkles and folds, such as nasolabial folds in patients over the age of 21.

There are subtle difference in these fillers and their differences are what determines the best area of the face for placement.  Restylane Refyne and Restylane Defyne are 2 of the newer products in the Galderma portfolio.  These are both hyaluronic acid fillers that are cross-linked differently, allowing for a smoother gel like consistency, making it perhaps a better choice where a more pliable product might be indicated such as areas where animation is critical.  Restylane Lyft is a very robust filler, making it a good choice for areas such as the chin, lateral aspect of the cheeks, or as a liquid rhinoplasty to correct a small nasal defect.  Restylane and Restylane silk are commonly used to treat the peri-orbital and tear trough areas.  Restylane is preferred over Juvederm in this area, due to the fact that it attracts less water and is less likely to cause as much swelling as Juvederm.

Treatment with any of the Restylane products is performed in the office using topical anesthesia and ice if desired by the patient.  A dental nerve block may be used for lip injections to make you more comfortable.  Multiple injections using a very fine needle are used to fill depressions, wrinkles and contour the face.  Many times more than one syringe of product is necessary in order to obtain full correction.  Injections are well tolerated with minimal downtime.  Mild bruising or swelling can occur but is easily covered with make-up so most patients do not have to miss work or other activities.  Pain and tenderness afterwards is mild.  No strenuous activity is advised for 2 days or so after your injection. Results can last anywhere from 6 - 18 months depending upon the specific product used, the area of placement, patient metabolism and patient lifestyle habits. Because all the products are made with hyaluronic acid, treatment is reversible with hyaluronidase in the case of over-correction.

To learn more about Restylane Products and how they might help you, please schedule a consultation at our office by calling  The Best U  Now  at 954-446-6464.

Kybella is a prescription medication used in adults to improve the appearance and profile of moderate to severe fat below the chin (known as submental fat) also called a “double chin”.

Kybella, also known as deoxycholic acid, is a FDA

approved non-surgical treatment solution for reducing moderate to severe

upper neck and under chin fat.  Although Kybella is FDA approved

for treating submental fat, it is also currently being used off label  to treat

other areas where excess unwanted fat is present.

Submental fullness (i.e. double chin) is a common facial condition that can impact a wide range of adults, both men and women.  Causes include aging, genetics and weight gain.  Sometimes, no matter how much you try to improve your diet and exercise, the condition just will not go away.  With the problem of submental fat, many people feel less confident and feel that it makes them look older and heavier than they really are.

Kybella is a non-human, non-animal formulation of deoxycholic acid, a naturally occurring substance in our bodies that helps in the breakdown and absorption of dietary fat.  When injected into fatty tissues, Kybella causes the destruction of fat cells. Because Kybella selectively targets fat cells, the surrounding non-fatty tissues are largely unaffected.  Kybella results are long lasting.  Kybella does not improve loose, sagging skin or prominent neck muscle bands that may be contributing to the aging neck.

Kybella is administered into the fatty tissue under the chin with a very tiny needle using a template that precisely places the injections into a specific treatment pattern. Usually 2 to 4 vials of Kybella are needed per treatment session and on average most patients’ need a series of 3 sessions spaced 6-8 weeks apart.   80% of patients expressed satisfaction with their treatment results, provided they followed the optimum treatment dosage and guidelines.

For most patients, downtime is minimal and worse after their first treatment session.  Most patients develop moderate to severe swelling of the lower chin area that can last up to 72 hours and in some patients slightly longer. Possible side effects may include pain at the injection site, bruising, swelling, numbness and redness.  Any side effects are usually temporary lasting a few days, but in some patients they can last longer.

Anyone interested in a non-surgical treatment to reduce submental chin fat can benefit from Fort Lauderdale Kybella treatments.   If you would like to know more about this treatment and think you may be a candidate, please contact The Best U  Now  at 954-446-6464 to schedule a consultation.

Melanage MiniPeel

The Melanage minipeel represents a new generation of chemical peels.  The peel uses weak acids, combined with potent non-acidic ingredients that do not burn, wound or injure the skin.  For this reason, the melanage minipeel can be used to treat patients with darker skin types. While some patients may experience a mild tingling sensation from the peeling solution, the treatment is virtually painless.  The Best U Now brought the minipeel skin enhancement system into our practice in order to be able to treat those patients with skin types that are not amenable to laser treatments.

Results will vary, but generally patients will see an improvement in the appearance of their skin. Although most patients experience peeling, not every patient will notice this.  If you do not see actual peeling, you are still receiving all the benefits of the melanage minipeel. Treatment continues at home with the products that are included in the minipeel kit including the use of the nightly skin brightener which helps to even out skin tone and reduce uneven pigment changes.

For best results, depending upon your actual skin condition, you may need to go through a series of treatment s in order to obtain your best outcome.  Following your mini-peel, to maintain continued improvement it is essential to use a daily sun-screen. For patients with conditions such as melasma, it will also be necessary to use a skin brightener on a regular basis.

If you would like to improve your skin by having a Melanage Minipeel treatment, please contact The Best U  Now  to schedule an appointment.

Nano Laser Peel

Nano-Laser Peel - Light up your skin with Laser Resurfacing, The Nano-Laser peel uses the power of light to instantly remove dull layers of skin.  Minimal downtime is associated with the Nano Laser Peel

usually just slight redness for 1-2 days.  Many patients make their appointment on a Friday - recover over the weekend and show off brighter skin on Monday.

process.  As the skin heals, fresh cells grow and resurface the

treated area. The result is healthier looking skin, often with

reduced wrinkles, and improved color evenness.  Patients often

tell us that they feel like their skin went from looking tired to

Fractional Resurfacing

Profractional Laser Therapy is a quick and comfortable laser procedure with minimal downtime, used for improving the overall appearance of your skin.  The procedure is performed in the office and can be custom tailored to address your specific skin conditions and desired outcome.  Profractional Laser Treatments are one of the best treatments to improve acne scars.

Profractional uses a tiny laser bean to treat thousands of pinpoint areas of your skin.  Because only a fraction of your skin is directly treated with the laser, the surround untreated tissue promotes rapid healing.  This skin’s wound healing response creates new collagen which adds firmness and resilience to the skin.

Excellent results can be obtained in just one treatment, though the number of treatments may vary from patient to patient.  Your health care provider can personalize a treatment plan for you based upon your specific needs and may choose to combine Profractional therapy with other aesthetic procedures to further enhance your outcome.

The procedure typically takes about 30 minutes.  Profractional therapy is widely regarded as a comfortable procedure, usually tolerated with the use of a topical numbing cream or local anesthetic, depending upon the depth of the treatment.  Immediately following the procedure, you may experience a mild redness and sensation resembling sunburn.  Complete healing usually occurs within a few days and most patients usually feel comfortable enough to get back to work and apply make-up 2-3 days after their treatment. There will likely be some swelling, but this will subside within several days following the treatment.

As your skin heals in the days following your treatment, you may notice a general tightening effect. However, the true benefit of Profractional therapy is the collagen remodeling that occurs during the 4-6 months following your treatment.

If you are interested in Profractional Laser Therapy, please contact The Best U  Now  to schedule a consultation.

Deep Laser Resurfacing

Deep Laser Resurfacing with Contour TRL is a treatment designed for unparalleled wrinkle reduction and improvements in skin tone and texture.

As we age, the effects of sun damage and environmental pollutants take their toll on our skin creating wrinkles, pigment irregularities, skin laxity and skin texture changes.  A custom designed Contour TRL procedure can be successful at reducing or eliminating these conditions and in fact is one of the best ways to address the aging problems that occur around the eyes and the mouth.

Although, there are several different types of lasers used to perform peels, the SCITON JOULE CONTOUR TRL technology is widely regarding as one of the safest, most effective laser treatments currently available.  Several areas of the body can be treated, although the most common areas are the face and neck. Laser resurfacing is often combined with plastic surgery procedures to further improve results.

The Contour TRL treatment is designed to treat deep wrinkles of the face, even wrinkles in difficult to treat areas like around the eyes and mouth.  It is also used to improve scars, solar spots, actinic keratosis and poor skin tone and texture.

The Contour TRL procedure is custom designed for each individual person in order to specifically address different concerns. The laser treatment safely removes a layer of skin to a depth determined by your health care provider.  The depth of treatment will depend upon your skin condition, your desired outcome and your expectation for downtime.  Because Contour TRL treatments can affect tissue with micro-precision, your health care provider can treat your skin with the exact amount of energy needed- no more, no less.  Extra heat can be added during the laser treatment which aids in skin tightening.  Treating skin with a laser stimulates the growth of new collagen, which helps to improve the skin’s thickness and elasticity.  The skin surface will also re-grow with fresh, healthy cells, which will give your

skin a younger, rejuvenated appearance. Because the Contour TRL is designed for deep laser peels, excellent results are typically achieved with just one treatment

After treatment you will experience redness and a sensation resembling sunburn.  Swelling may occur in the treated area.  Your health care provider will advise you on specific after-care treatment recommendations, which may include analgesics, antibiotics and the application of a special post-laser ointment to keep the skin moist.  Your skin will be extra sensitive to ultra-violet light after the procedure, so you must avoid direct sun exposure until fully healed.  It is also recommended that you always use some method of solar protection to avoid sun damage and reduce premature aging of the skin.

Complete healing will depend largely upon the depth of the treatment.  Healing times for shallow treatments are typically 3-4 days before patients are able to resume normal activities.  For deeper depths, healing time can take 2-3 weeks.

The top layer of the skin will regrow and can typically be covered with makeup in about 7-10 days.  At that time you will start to notice considerable improvement in your skin’s texture, tone, elasticity and wrinkle appearance.  Deeper laser treatments also stimulate the growth of new collagen formation which will become evident over the next 4-6 months.

No other non-surgical technology can turn back time as effective as a Contour TRL treatment procedure. If you would like more information about the Contour TRL laser treatment or would like to schedule a consultation, please call The Best U  Now  at 954-446-6464.

Skin Firming with SkinTyte

SkinTyte is a non-ablative treatment approach to firmer skin. The SkinTyte treatment is based upon the principle of selective thermolysis and utilizes pulsed light technology to deeply heat your skin while cooling and protecting the entire treated surface. SkinTyte can be provided quickly and comfortably with no downtime. The end result is firmer, tighter skin.

SkinTyte works by using infrared energy to deeply heat dermal collagen. The process promoted partial denaturation and contraction of collagen. The heat also initiates the body’s natural healing process, which creates a renewed collagen foundation leading to increased skin firmness. Powerful cooling maintains the outer surface of your skin at a cool temperature before, during and after each pulse, providing the patient a comfortable and safe procedure.

SkinTyte results may vary from patient to patient. The SkinTyte procedure is recommended for patients who desire moderate, noticeable skin improvement without having to undergo surgery. Full results often take up to four months as the collagen foundation of your skin is rebuilt and strengthened. Typically patients go through a series of 3-6 sessions depending upon the area being treated and the amount of laxity present in the skin.

It is important if you are considering SkinTyte treatments to have realistic expectation with regards to the treatment result. Those patients with moderate to severe laxity may not be a candidate for SkinTyte treatment and may actually require a surgical procedure in order to tighten their skin to their degree of expectation.

If you are wondering if you are a good candidate for SKINTYTE and would like to schedule a consultation, please contact The Best U  Now  to schedule an appointment.
